PERSONAL INJURY--Our experience and history of results speaks for itself.

The Law Office of Robert D. Massey has represented people and families who have been injured based on the negligence of other people or businesses for many years with verdicts and/or settlements which include amounts in excess of $1,000,000.00 on individual cases.  Do not be misled by televison advertisements.  Lawyers spending money on advertising does not formulate into hard work or more importantly, good results.

These cases are often complex and time consuming.  Regardless, this office is accustomed to working with expert witnesses in a variety of fields in an effort to maximize the client's recovery.  Each case is unique and is approached in a manner which lets the client know that their case is a priority.  We do not take a volume of cases and settle them short of their value to produce advertising revenue like many other law firms.  We work hard for our clients and strive to accomplish these goals.

Generally speaking, if someone is hurt by negligence of another person or business, they may claim for the personal injuries they sustained. The damages which may be available for personal injury claim include damages for pain and suffering, lost wages, lost earning capacity, mental anguish, and compensation for property damage.   Mr. Massey can explain each type of damage and what must be proven to receive compensation.  We represent individuals hurt in a number of ways, including: auto accidents, defective products, on the job injuries, assault and battery and slip and fall accidents.  Most personal injury cases are handled on a contingency fee basis. This means that you are not charged directly for attorney's fees, but rather a percentage of the amount recovered for you is taken out of the recovery. The contingent fee structure can be more completely described at an initial consultation.

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS--Corporations cannot be allowed to bypass consumer safety for profit.

Our office has undertaken cases which involve injuries based on improperly designed products and obtained settlements in excess of $4,000,000.00.  In doing so, we have routinely associated ourselves with some of the best law firms in the country in this area of law.  We have years of experience representing individuals who have been injured as a result of an unsafe or defective product that was designed, manufactured, sold, or furnished by a company or individual. We assists those injured individuals in bringing their claims and being fairly compensated for their injuries.

We have associated our office with some of the top firms in the country to work on these cases as a team.

WRONGFUL DEATH--We care about justice for families who have lost a loved one.

Wrongful DeathThe Law Office of Robert D. Massey understands the value of life and what it means to your family to lose a loved one.  Our office has obtained verdicts and/or settlements in excess of $1,000,000.00  in this area of the law on behalf of grieving families.  This area of the law, just like the personal injury and defective products cases mentioned above, often requires the employment of expert witness and the association of other lawyers and/or law firms which is done at no additional costs to the clients.

Wrongful death is death caused by the fault of another person either through negligence or by intentional act. Spouses, children and parents can make a claim for damages against the wrongdoer. In some cases, even though a person is deceased, his or her estate may also have a claim for damages. Examples of wrongful conduct that may lead to death include: drinking and driving, manufacturing a defective product, building an unstable structure or failing to diagnose a fatal disease.

FAMILY LAW--Experience and hard work get results.

An expansive area of the law including: divorce, child custody, adoption, and modification of divorce decrees, family law is a complicated area of law, which requires extensive preparation and trial experience in order to accomplish the client's goals. This office has handled literally thousands of cases ranging from simple adoptions to complex divorces involving marital estates of over a million dollars. This office is affiliated with professionals providing expert services which include investigation, forensic accounting, and valuations all of which are often needed in the area of family law. It is extremely important to hire an attorney with the experience to address your need in the area of family law.

WORKER'S COMPENSATION--Fast, competent, and caring representation is available.

Workers CompensationFew things can be more traumatic for an individual or family member than being injured on the job so as to interrupt ones normal flow of income. Worker's compensation insurance companies are experts in minimizing the money paid to an injured employee. You should seek immediate legal assistance to insure your rights are protected as this area of law is changing year to year to the disadvantage of the injured worker. This office has handled hundreds of worker's compensation cases many of which have been successfully litigated through the appellate system in favor of the injured worker.

All of these cases are handled on a contingency basis meaning you are not charged directly for attorney fees and the client is not required to pay a penny to get our office involved, ( noting the fee structure is more adequately described at the initial client consultation).

CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Crimal DefenseThe Law Office of Robert D. Massey has represented citzens accused of crimes for years.  We pride ourselves on concluding our cases with our clients realizing that they had an attorney who fought for them and during the process kept them informed and up to date on developments in their cases.  Aggressive, ethical representation which is result oriented is what we strive to provide.  In doing so we have obtained not guilty verdicts in death penalty cases, negotiated satisfactory settlements in cases which seemed indefensible, and caused prosecuters to dismiss cases based on the unconstitutional practices of law enforcement officers.  We cannot promise a result, but we can promise hard work and preparation which are keys to a sucessful criminal defense practice.

Our office handles a vast area of criminal law including from minor traffic citations and driving under the influence charges, to "white collar" crimes such as embezzlement and bank fraud, to drug possession and allegations of murder involving the death penalty. A criminal conviction in any of these areas can have severe consequences which could affect ones ability to vote, obtain a job, own a firearm or remain free from incarceration.  You should seek out and hire an attorney with the experience to fight for you or your loved one who is charged with a criminal violation.  Please feel free to call our office to schedule a consultation.  Also, review the remainder of the website for an insight to our experience.

SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY

The Law Offices of Robert D. Massey represents disabled people who have social security claims for disability. We provide our clients with the information needed to make an informed decision regarding Social Security Disability laws and regulations.

NUSRSING HOME ABUSE

This office offers compassion and resources to represent the families of those persons who are unfortunately abused, mistreated, and/or neglected while residing in a nursing home. Nothing can be more devastating to a family than to have the trust it has placed in a facility for the care of its elderly members violated by staff and/or medical providers. Our office represents families in these emotionally tough cases and has successfully litigated them.  We have recovered settlements over a million dollars in nursing home abuse cases.
